Zombie Love Story Video: How to Make the Couple Version

The zombie love story is the couple version of the AI zombie trend. The partner who turned comes through the door; the partner with the gun lowers it, lets it drop and opens both arms, and the zombie's leap lands as a hug in a sunny memory of the two of you. To do this zombie trend here, put the partner who holds the gun in the left photo and the partner who turned in the right one, choose Couple in the generator and press the button.

The zombie trend film is 15 seconds long with sound and costs 12 credits at 720p. The frames in this guide come from our own test renders of 8 and 9 October 2026, cast with an AI-made woman and man, not with real people.

Decide which of you turns into the zombie

In the zombie trend, either of you can take either part. The prompt never says he or she: it calls them the person from the first photo and the person from the second, so two women, two men, or a woman and a man get exactly the same instructions. Our couple renders so far cast a woman and a man; our best-friend and mother tests, in the same Couple mode, cast two women.

The parts are not equal, so pick on purpose. The survivor in the left photo gets the most screen time: the opening close-up with tears, the moment the gun drops, the open arms. The partner in the right photo gets the scariest shot, the snarling zombie close-up, and then the happiest one, laughing in the meadow. Below, one face three ways: the photo we uploaded, the zombie in shot 3 and the memory in shot 7.

Want both versions of the zombie trend? Make one film, press the ⇄ button between the photos and make a second. Each is its own render and costs its own credits, and the two films will not match frame for frame.

What the couple zombie trend shows, scene by scene

  1. The standoff. A bare farmhouse room after an outbreak, grey daylight, dust (or a ruined street, a blizzard, an empty mall or a night subway, if you pick another world). The survivor holds a handgun in both hands, crying. The partner who turned comes through the doorway with grey-green skin, clouded eyes and torn, dusty clothes.
  2. The choice. The survivor lowers the gun and lets it drop to the floor, then opens both arms and closes their eyes. This is the beat the whole story turns on.
  3. The leap. A wide shot across the room: the zombie runs in from the left and leaps, held in mid-air just before they touch.
  4. The memory. The leap carries into a hillside meadow at golden hour. Both look the way they did before, with no marks and no gun. The leap lands as a hug, a spin and laughter, and the film ends close on their two faces, foreheads almost touching.

The meadow is a memory, not a cure. Nothing in the film says the zombie gets better; the prompt calls part two “the memory” and asks for both of them as they were before. That is why the ending of the zombie trend lands: viewers know what is waiting back in the farmhouse.

The prompt asks for a hug, a spin and foreheads almost touching, not a kiss. The frames below follow the choice in our 9:16 render: the gun raised (1), arms open (2), the leap (3), the memory (4).

Photos that keep your partner recognisable as a zombie

The partner who turns has the hardest job. Grey skin and clouded eyes cover a lot of a face, so the hair, the face shape and the jaw carry the likeness. The prompt asks to keep each face and hairstyle exactly as in the photo; give it a photo where both are easy to see.

  • A front-facing photo with the whole head in frame, hair included. Our test man kept his short dark hair in all three scenes.
  • Even daylight. A face half in shadow gives the zombie close-up less to follow.
  • One person per photo. If your best photo is of the two of you, crop it into two.
  • No sunglasses, masks or strong filters, on either of you.

Zombie trend ideas for couples: anniversaries, Valentine’s Day and friends

  • An anniversary film. Send it the morning of, with your own line in the message. The generator adds no text on screen, so write the caption yourself.
  • Long distance. Two photos from two different places are fine; the film puts you in the same room and the same meadow.
  • Valentine’s Day or a proposal teaser. Post the zombie close-up as the cover, so the hug comes as a surprise.
  • Best friends, siblings or roommates. Couple mode takes any two people. Between friends the hug, the spin and the foreheads read as a joke, which is usually the point.
  • Halloween. Post both versions, one each way. The Halloween zombie video guide has more ideas.

Before you post your AI zombie trend video

Play it once with the sound on. The soundtrack moves from wind and breathing to soft piano, with no song and no dialogue, so a trending sound added in TikTok or Instagram sits on top without clashing words; turn the original down if both play. If you picked 9:16, check it on your phone. And ask your partner before posting: it is their face in the zombie close-up. Our 9:16 zombie trend test film, as it came back:

FAQ

Can same-sex couples do the AI zombie trend?

Yes. The prompt refers to the person in each photo, never to a gender, so two women or two men get exactly the same film as any other pair. Our couple renders so far used a woman and a man, and our best-friend and mother tests in the same mode used two women.

Which photo becomes the zombie?

The right one, marked “Turned”. The left one, “Holds the gun”, is the survivor. The ⇄ button between them swaps the two.

Is the zombie love story video scary or gory?

It has a zombie close-up with grey skin, clouded eyes and a snarl. The prompt asks for no blood and no wounds, but in our renders the zombie still had dark scratch marks on the face, reddish in two of them, so watch it before sending it to someone who dislikes horror.

Can we make both versions, with each of us as the zombie?

Yes. Make one zombie trend video, press ⇄ to swap the photos and make another. That is two renders, 12 credits each at 720p.

Does the zombie trend video have music?

It has its own sound: wind, breathing and a growl in the farmhouse, then a soft piano theme and laughter in the meadow. There is no song and no dialogue, so you can add your own sound when you post.
