The short answer
The AI zombie trend is a short film in which one person has turned into a zombie and the other, gun raised, cannot fire. Here you add two photos: the first is the survivor who holds the gun, the second is the one who turned, another person (Couple) or a dog or cat (Pet). The generator starts on Seedance 2.0 Mini at 720p, 15 seconds and 16:9, which costs 12 credits; the provider quotes up to about 5 minutes, and a failed render is refunded automatically. Our own five test renders (720p, 15 seconds, 8 October 2026) took 2.5 to 3 minutes each.

The film
What happens in the AI zombie trend video
The prompt asks for two scenes joined by hard cuts. First, a dim farmhouse kitchen after an outbreak: the survivor from your first photo holds a handgun in both hands, eyes wet, while the one from your second photo comes through the doorway with grey skin and clouded eyes. The survivor lowers the gun, lets it drop and opens both arms. The one who turned runs in and leaps.
Halfway through the leap the picture jumps to a sunny hillside meadow, the same leap in the same framing, and now both of them look the way they did before. The leap lands as a hug, the survivor spins them around, and the clip ends close on the two faces. The prompt asks for no blood and no wounds, and for wind, breathing and one low growl in the kitchen, then soft piano and quiet laughter in the meadow, with no dialogue.
Pick Couple when the one who turned is a person: a partner, a best friend, a sibling. Pick Pet when it is your dog or cat; the prompt asks the model to keep its breed, size, coat colour and markings from the photo.
What our test renders showed
We made five test renders on 8 October 2026 with AI-drawn test people and a golden retriever, at 720p and 15 seconds. Faces, the dog's breed and its coat stayed recognisable, and the leap carried over into the meadow. In one of them the cut into the meadow came out as a short dissolve instead of a hard cut.
Two things changed after the first round. The first dog looked too healthy to read as a zombie, so the prompt now asks for clouded eyes, matted fur and a torn ear. The first 9:16 video skipped the leap in the kitchen, so tall frames now get their own line saying where both bodies go.
Three steps
How to make the AI zombie trend video
- 01
Add the two photos
The first photo is the survivor, the one holding the gun. The second is the one who turned. Use clear, front-facing photos where the face, or the animal, is easy to see.
- 02
Pick Couple or Pet
Couple is two people; Pet is a person and their dog or cat. Switching between them keeps the model, quality, length and format you chose.
- 03
Create and download
The button shows the price before you create. The provider quotes up to about 5 minutes; download the MP4 or find it later in My videos.

Settings you can change
| Setting | Starts on | Other choices |
|---|---|---|
| Model | Seedance 2.0 Mini | Seedance 2.0 Fast, 2.0 and 2.5 |
| Quality | 720p | 480p, or 1080p on Seedance 2.0 and 2.5 |
| Length | 15 seconds | 5 to 12 seconds, or 20 and 30 seconds on Seedance 2.5 |
| Format | 16:9 | 9:16 for TikTok and Reels, or 1:1, 4:3, 3:4 and 21:9 |
The film is written for 15 seconds. A shorter video leaves less time for the memory at the end, so keep 15 seconds unless you only want the standoff.
Tips for the two photos
- One subject per photo, chest up or closer, in good light. Sunglasses and heavy filters make the face harder to keep.
- For Pet, a photo where the whole head and some of the body are visible works better than a close-up of the nose.
- Check the order before you create: the first photo holds the gun, the second is the zombie.
01What is the AI zombie trend?
A short video where one person has turned into a zombie and the other, holding a gun, cannot shoot. Instead they open their arms, and the leap turns into a hug in a happy memory. The AI version is made from your own photos.
02Which photo becomes the zombie?
The second one. The first photo is the survivor who holds the gun and cannot fire; the second is the one who turned.
03Can my dog or cat be the zombie?
Yes. Pick Pet and put your dog or cat in the second photo. The prompt asks the model to keep its breed, size, coat colour and markings.
04Is it gory?
No. The prompt asks for no blood and no wounds: a person who turned gets grey skin, clouded eyes and torn clothes, a pet gets clouded eyes and matted fur. Every render also goes through the video provider’s content check.
05How much does the zombie video cost?
12 credits for 15 seconds at 720p on Seedance 2.0 Mini. Other models, qualities and lengths show their price before you create. Credits are paid when you create; the smallest pack is 12 credits for $9.99, and a failed render is refunded automatically.
06Can I use a photo of someone else?
Only with their permission. No strangers, celebrities or other public figures.
